Impact Stories

To me the FOCUS programme is proactive with a specific focus and perspective. I like how structured the programme is. FOCUS has introduced me to a new mentor and has kept constant contact which I feel I need from time to time. To me FOCUS encompasses the meaning of sisterhood. It continues to mold me and continues to instill discipline while encouraging growth. It has reminded me that it is okay to miss a few steps but also to keep my head forward. I have met wonderful souls who have become friends. I’m grateful to be a part of the programme and I am excited for next year!

The programme has assisted me in dealing with failure this year. Being able to talk to Miss J about the results I have received this year and also hearing other mentees first-year stories have helped me to deal with my own challenges during my first year. FOCUS means a lot to me. Being able to assist young individuals with challenges they will face, helps me to face my own obstacles and learn new lessons along the way.

Focus is a great benefit to society. It creates a safe space where the youth and professionals can come together to share experiences that can help someone’s life both mentally and academically to help make better decisions for our lives. It exposes us youth to new information that we may not get in school life different careers and life after matric.
